The outposts of the Monti Gemelli are: Ascoli, Folignano, Campli, Civitella, and Valle Castellana. These five villages are situated between Abruzzo and Marche, easily accessible, and rich in history and beauty.

Reaching the Monti Gemelli from the South, on the Abruzzo Side

Itinerary: Valle Castellana (TE), Campli (TE), Civitella Del Tronto (TE), Folignano (AP), Ascoli Piceno (AP)

• Enter the Autostrada Adriatica (Adriatic Highway)/A14 towards Bologna
• Take the Teramo-Giulianova Mosciano S. Angelo exit towards Teramo/Giulianova/Mosciano S. Angelo
• Continue straight for about 300 meters
• At the roundabout, take the third exit towards SP22a
• After about 800 meters, at the roundabout take the first exit towards the Superstrada Teramo-Mare (Teramo-Mare Highway) towards Rome/L’Aquila/Teramo/Commercial Area
• Continue for about 2 km, then take the Teramo Ovest exit
• At the roundabout, take the second exit onto Strada Statale 80 Variante di Teramo (State Road 80 Teramo Bypass)
• Continue for about 2 km, then take the exit for Teramo/Centro (Center)
• After about 450 meters, take the fourth exit onto Via Luigi Di Paolantonio
• Continue for about 300 meters, then turn left onto Via Leone Quintili Vincenzo
• Turn right and enter the roundabout at Piazza Giuseppe Garibaldi
• Proceed northeast from Piazza Giuseppe Garibaldi towards Via Alcide de Gasperi/SS80
• Exit the roundabout onto Via Francesco Crucioli /SS80/SS81
• At the roundabout, take the first exit onto Via Cona/SS80
• At the roundabout, take the third exit and stay on SS80
• After about 600 meters, turn right
• Continue for about 70 meters, then turn right again
• After about 4 km, keep left
• Continue for about 2 km, then turn left onto SP48
• Continue for about 17.5 km, then turn right onto Frazione Pascellata/SP49
• After about 9 km, turn left onto SP49
• Continue for about 1 km, then turn left to stay on SP49
• Follow the signs for Valle Castellana

• Exit Valle Castellana heading north towards Contrada Villafranca
• Follow the signs for Via Piceno Aprutina /SS81 (signs for Teramo/Campli)
• Turn left onto Via del Parco Archeologico (Archaeological Park)
• Continue for about 5 km, then turn right onto SP262
• After about 150 meters, turn right onto Via del Monastero
• Follow the signs for Corso Umberto I

Welcome to Campli! Here you can visit the Scala Santa (Holy Stairs), the National Archaeological Museum of Campli, the Campovalano Necropolis, and the Casa del Dottore. There are many excellent places to eat and comfortable places to stay in Campli.

• Exit Campli heading towards Via Porta Orientale onto SP262
• At the roundabout, take the second exit onto SP262
• After about 2.5 km, turn left onto Via del Parco Archeologico (Archaeological Park)
• Continue for about 1.5 km, then turn right to stay on Archaeological Park Street
• After about 800 meters, turn right onto Via Piceno Aprutina/SS81
• Continue for about 4 km, then turn slightly right onto SP8
• Follow the signs for Civitella del Tronto

• Exit Civitella del Tronto heading southwest on Via Sandro Pertini
• Exit the roundabout onto SP14
• After about 7.5 km, turn left onto Via Cincinnato
• Then turn immediately left onto Via Metella/SP58
• Continue straight for about 3 km, then take the second exit onto Viale Venezia
• Follow the signs for Folignano

• Exit Folignano heading towards Viale Piceno Aprutino /SS81
• Follow Viale Piceno Aprutino /SS81 towards the Raccordo Superstrada for Ascoli Piceno
• Take the exit towards San Benedetto del T./Roma/Bologna/Taranto from Viale Piceno Aprutino /SS81
• Take RA 11 and the Tangenziale Sud (South Bypass) of Ascoli Piceno towards Via Adriatico
• Take the Ascoli Piceno Exit from the Tangenziale Sud (South Ring Road) of Ascoli Piceno
• Continue on Via Adriatico
• Take Via Pacifici and Via Francesco Ricci towards Via Dino Angelini in Ascoli Piceno

• Enter the Autostrada Adriatica/A14 towards Taranto
• Take the Ascoli Piceno exit from the Tangenziale Sud (South Ring Road) of Ascoli Piceno
• Take the Ascoli Piceno-San Benedetto T. Exit towards Ascoli Piceno
• Merge onto RA 11 and continue for about 24 km
• Continue on the Tangenziale Sud (South Ring Road) of Ascoli Piceno for about 2 km
• Take the Ascoli Piceno exit towards Ascoli Piceno Centro
• At the roundabout, take the second exit onto Via Adriatico
• At the roundabout, take the first exit onto Via Mediterraneo
• Turn right onto Ponte di Porta Cartara (Porta Cartara Bridge)
• Ponte di Porta Cartara (Porta Cartara Bridge) curves slightly to the right and becomes Lungo Castellano Sisto V.
• Turn left onto Via Pacifici
• Continue onto Via Francesco Ricci / Viale delle Rimembranze
